Description: The Canadian Yoga Institute is a registered charity. Its charitable roll in the community is to provide a serene environment in which to teach yoga and the healthy lifelstyle choices of yoga. The facility is affordably made available to yoga teachers of all traditions as well as wholistic therapists for workshops on a rental basis. CYI raises funds at various times of the year to sustain funding that will provide ongoing yoga instruction to disadvantaged Seniors at local lodges and care facilities, and to children of various ages in local schools.
CYI also offers a selection of structured public classes at its facility year round. The classes are either 90 minutes or 2 hrs in length. Class offerings include, Therapeutic/Prenatal, Gentle Yoga, introductory and ongoing levels for Classical Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Nordic Walking/Yoga. Classes all include a focus on pranayama (breath work), hatha (various styles of posture explorations with the use of a wide array of props and supportive traction devices), meditation, healthy diet & nutrition, & stress management.
